‘Honey’ - depicted here in a painting - is my grandmother and the daughter of ‘Mama Joy’ - This piece has been cherished by my family for generations, and has been lovingly passed down to me. It now hangs in the salon, as an homage to the long line of powerful women I draw so much love and inspiration from - beginning with my Mama Joy, and onward through Honey, and my beloved own mother, Tracy.

“Pretty is as Pretty Does is something my Great Grandmother ‘Mama Joy’ used to tell me when I was a little girl. She believed being pretty started with your inside and how you choose to treat those around you. I’ve lived by this my entire life. She was a shining example of a beautiful Southern woman, and I loved her with all of my heart. This is my legacy to all the very strong women who raised and shaped me throughout my life, and all they’ve taught me. I try every day to make people feel great about themselves inside and out. It is my goal to make the world a little prettier than how I found it.”
